Project Overview and Partnerships

The Wellcome Trust approached us to develop a feasibility study to upgrade the exhibition, club and library elements of Wellcome Collection. This collaborative project focuses on enhancing one of the world's most important medical libraries and its significant collection of medical objects through thoughtful architectural improvements.

Existing Building and Collection

The existing building showcases the Wellcome Collection, housing temporary and permanent exhibition galleries, a library, a conference centre, a cafe, a bookshop and an education suite, offices and conservation studios. This comprehensive facility serves as a hub for medical research, education, and public engagement with healthcare history and innovation.

Mission and Vision

Wellcome Collection explores the connections between medicine, life and art in the past, present and future. The institution's unique approach to presenting medical knowledge through artistic and cultural lenses creates opportunities for innovative spatial design that supports both scholarly research and public engagement with healthcare topics.

The feasibility study addresses how architectural enhancements can better support the collection's mission while improving visitor experience and operational efficiency. More information on the building and Wellcome Collection can be found at www.wellcomecollection.org.

This project represents an opportunity to create spaces that honor the historical significance of medical knowledge while fostering contemporary dialogue about health, science, and society.
