Laura invited to speak at ILAUD in Urbino
Laura Carrara-Cagni will be speaking at the First International Seminar – Architectural Identity: Mapping the Questions, to be held in Urbino in September 2026, as part of the ILA&UD 1976–2026 anniversary initiative.
Laura will present Cagni Williams' approach to hospital design which puts healthcare facilities at the heart of the community. She will illustrate the opportunity for new hospitals to be a catalyst for urban regeneration, with examples from the practice's work including MMUH in Birmingham, stressing that hospitals should not be fortresses. She will also describe how redevelopment of healthcare estates can integrate sustainable energy solutions and outline some current initiatives from Cagni Williams Energy.
